Following a chance meeting in a night club, Dan persuaded me to go on a date to Redcar and we both felt like we had we had known each other forever. There was amazing chemistry between us and we couldn’t wait to learn everything about each other. We both quickly realised that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. However, Dan’s proposal was a complete suprise.
Harvey, our dog who is a massive part of our life, had suffered a life threatening disease and at one point we thought we were going to lose him. After treatment, Harvey made an amazing recovery and we’ve always known he would be part of our big day. Dan proposed to me at home and caught me completely off guard. Had he taken me away I would have known straight away that he was going to propose. Dan and I had planned a lazy Saturday afternoon at home, watching movies.
As I chose the next movie Dan tied a small bag around Harvey’s neck. I called Harvey into the room and as soon as I saw him, I knew what was about to happen. Dan got down on one knee and all I could do was cry.
“Working two doors up from Dobinsons of Darlington, I would always stop and admire the dresses in the window. One day a certain dress caught my eye and I thought it was the one.
I then booked an appointment to try this dress on with my mum. It was gorgeous and I was almost ready to buy it! My Mum is always good at picking out a spectacular outfit and said I should take the opportunity to try on a few more. I listened to her advice and tried on another 2 dresses. After stepping into the second dress I immediately knew it was the one. It was an Ivory fishtail dress, lace and beaded detail which was amazing and button fastening to the rear. I felt this dress just completed my figure and made me feel like a true princess. I had a mutual friend who is a dress maker work his magic to turn the belt of the dress into a headdress for me to wear on the day.”
“Walworth’s grounds were a massive eye catcher for us. The theme we wanted was rustic and historic, and Walworth certainly ticked both of these boxes. Other potential venues we considered informed us that they could host other weddings on the same day as ours. Exclusive use of the venue was very important to us as we didn’t want to share our wedding day with another bride and groom. Walworth Castle only host one wedding per day and this was the final deciding factor.
On our wedding day we loved everything about Walworth, but most importantly the outside ceremony. We were the first couple to use the new Lady Palmers Pavillion at Walworth, and couldn’t imagine having our wedding without the outdoor ceremony.
Walworth Castle is in a beautiful location with a relaxing atmosphere and is surrounded by staff who were truly amazing and very attentive. A team that really wanted to help two individuals become one. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to get married.”
“We wanted creative, fine art photography but also someone who would capture every moment of the day for both of us. We usually only see the bride in photographs before the wedding, but we wanted someone that would also capture Dan and the groomsmen getting ready.
After practically stalking Stan Seaton’s website and school profiles, we decided to call into their studio in Darlington. Entering as strangers, we left feeling as if we had known them for years. They were so understanding and nothing seemed to be an issue for them. Most importantly we didn’t get a pushy sales pitch. We just felt like we are amongst friends.
We would definitely recommend having a pre-wedding shoot. It gives time for both the couple and photographers to get to know each other on a personal level and also makes you feel very comfortable with your photographers on the wedding day.
Our experience with Stan Seaton photography has been brilliant. Both Stan and Jane are so professional and are just amazing at capturing special moments.”
“At many points during the day and night time take a moment to step back and look at whats going on around you. You get caught up in having such a good time and entertaining your guests you don’t leave time to let it all sink in!”
