After weeks of planning Courtney managed to completely catch Sophie off her guard and surprised himself at the same time that he managed to pull it off.
Sophie thought they were going to a party and she really didn’t want to go to. But Courtney being very romantic lit up the campfire at the magical woodland retreat, The North Star Club. In Sancton Surrounded by candles and fairy lights.
“I wanted a beaded, gentle fitted dress which suited the French venue I wanted it easy to wear in the heat and practical for moving around the venue.
My dress and veil was by Zavana Bridal from Chloe Jane Bridal in Howden.
The dress was champagne lined which was a custom choice making the colours softer and the pattern stand out the lack of corseting made it light and floaty to wear and the lack of train also contributed to this but the detailing of the beading made my dress the beautiful gown it was.”
Chateau LasFargues, Laugnac, Agen.
“We had the whole day here but it has many different areas to use throughout the day. Our ceremony was down in the woods where there is a natural aisle between the trees and a historic well where the Celebrant held the service.
We had drinks on the terrace over loving the lake and finally had our meal on the lawn at the front of the chateau where there was also a marquis and dance floor. It’s the most picturesque and fairytale venue but in a French slightly modern style.”
“We couldn’t recommend Mark highly enough. We met a few photographers in the lead up to the wedding but when we met Mark we hit it off straight away and this definitely helped as we felt so comfortable around him, which was vital as we spent a lot of time together taking pictures over the weekend.
Also, we were very impressed with his previous work and the fact that he specialises in destination weddings – he really ticked all the boxes for us. So many of our guests complimented us on how much of a nice and genuine guy Mark was.
Mark also provided a photo booth, which had the option of GIFs and went down a treat with our guests, producing some cracking photos.
The final edits of our wedding photos were better than we could have ever imagined. Mark was so enthusiastic about shooting us and our venue, and I think the pictures really show that.”
Details & Styling
“We went quite for modern French classic style. I had large blue hydrangeas in my flowers for the classic bouquet, but surrounded by foliage for a modern take. This was all intended to reflect a traditional French chateau but with a fresh 20th century aesthetic look.
We had a Croquembouche cake, which was sourced by Kristian our planner. It made for a great photograph in front of the Chateau, with all the guests holding sparklers and two flaming fountains in the cake whilst we cut it.”
“Enjoy every moment – even the planning! When it seems stressful just remember, it will all work out in the end and be totally worth it. Make sure to stop consciously in the day at some point, take a look around and absorb what’s going on as it all goes very quickly.”
